About This Pattern
Taegeuk 3 represents the trigram "Ri" (離), symbolising Fire and the Sun. Fire brings warmth and hope but must be respected. This pattern teaches passion and enthusiasm, encouraging practitioners to train with burning intensity while maintaining control.
New techniques introduced: Knife-hand neck strike (Sonnal mok chigi), Knife-hand block (Sonnal momtong makgi), Back stance (Dwit kubi), Double punch (Du-bon jireugi)
